I hope you find this letter, I’m leaving for you
tonight,
Telling you of my pain, and of my tiring plight.
I guess I asked too much of you,
Too much for you to do.
You saw my tears as I cried,
Sometimes I wish I had died.
You turned away from me,
I guess you didn’t want to see.
The pain I’m holding inside me,
Now begs to be set free.
If only you would let me go,
I want to be alone.
For me you don’t have time to give,
Now I ask you then, why do I live?
To serve you? There must be more,
Loving you has become a chore.
If only you could return my love,
You can not, please set me free like the dove.
I have left for good, don’t look for me,
Please let me go, and die in peace.
