It’s not a place I really wanted to go,
But it’s where I landed though.
I have what is on my back,
And the few items I carry in this small sack.
I had to get out in the middle of the night,
See, I was running for my life.
There are other ladies here, they’re crying as
well,
We have one thing in common; we’ve all lived
through hell.
We were strangers before we came here,
Now, we’re sharing each others tears.
Most of us didn’t know if we’d get out alive,
Some of us almost did die.
We all feel so confused,
We’ve been battered, we’ve been abused.
One of us has a broken jaw,
One of us you wouldn’t recognize at all.
Some of us are strong; some are weak,
I think it was destiny that we all meet.
For each of us will help the other,
When one of us cries, the others will hold her.
The people who did all these things,
Most of us are wearing their rings.
How can someone hurt another like that?
There are some things you can’t take back.
We can leave them far behind,
But we can’t make them leave our minds.
Some scars we will have forever,
But our lives will now get better.
We will leave here with a fresh start,
Keep our new found friends in our hearts.
Wish each other all the best,
Thank each other for helping us get through this
test.
I have since left that place,
Now I have a smile upon my face.
For all the abuse I left behind,
True love is finally mine.
